BEFORE

This hand-built hope chest has amazing structure and beautiful details, and the only thing needed to update it was a hammer-free but brush-required transformation.

AFTER

The hope chest was painted with couple coats of Van Gogh Fossil Paint Chivalry (grey) color.

After that, it was lightly sanded to smooth the surface and reveal a bit of original wood from underneath the paint.

It was then protected with a layer of Van Gogh Fossil Paint Natural Beeswax.

To give it a more sophisticated and elegant look, four diamond-shaped glass knobs were added on to complete the makeover.

From a project straight out of woodworking class in high school to chic and modern with just chalk type paint and organic beeswax.

This hope chest is fashionable ready and suitable for any room of the house, any style of the design and will serve as a big time storage solution.
